3HL North is a 3x3 hockey league.
Games are played in 3 periods of 7 minutes of stop time.
The main differences are:
- 3x3 format;
- No icing or offsides are recorded;
- In case of a minor penalty, a shotout is awarded instead;
- The goaltender must dangle the puck within 10 seconds after fixation, meanwhile the attacking team must leave the opponent's zone;
- A goal is scored only if the team managed to pass the puck at least once in offensive zone;
- If a match ends in a draw, 3 shotouts are awarded to both of the teams;
