Match duration and chronology

The match consists of 3 periods of 10 minutes of playing time. In the event of a tie in regular time, penalty shots are taken, 5 from each team.

Order:

  1. Home team -> Away team, 1 penalty shot each
  2. In the event of a tie after the first 5 penalty shots:
    • The order changes (i.e., the visitors take two penalty shots in a row when the order changes).
    • Penalty shots are taken until one team has a 1-shot advantage after each team has taken their shots.
Lineups
  1. Basic lineups: 4 players and 1 goalkeeper
  2. Possible field player lineups: 4x4, 3x4/4x3, 3x3
  3. The goalkeeper may be removed and returned.
Fouls and ejections

A player who commits a foul is ejected from the court for n minutes.

Possible penalty durations

There are three possible penalty durations:

  1. 1 minute
  2. 2 minutes
  3. 5 minutes

*There is also a 10-minute penalty. It is paired with another type of penalty, for example, 10 minutes + 1 minute. This means that the offending player is removed from the field until the end of the game, but the team plays with one player less for only 1 minute (or 2, or 5, depending on which penalty was paired with the 10-minute penalty). In the case of a 10-minute penalty, the scout will simply receive 1 of 3 events: a 1-, 2-, or 5-minute penalty.

Simultaneous/Consecutive removals in 1 team

In the case of simultaneous removals or if 1 more player is removed during an active removal, the number of players on the team does not change and remains equal to 3.

The next penalty begins only after the previous one has ended, i.e., the duration of the game with 3 players is equal to the sum of the durations of all unfinished penalties.

For example:

  1. A player was sent off for 1 minute -> the team size was reduced to 3 for 1 minute.
  2. After 30 seconds, another player was sent off for 1 minute:
    • The team size does not change.
    • The duration of the game with 3 players is extended by 1 minute. That is, the total time remaining to play with 3 players is 1:30.
Logic of postponing and early termination of penalties

Penalties are postponed to the next period.

If the majority team scores a goal, the current active penalty ends. The rest remain unchanged.

For example:

  1. Lineups 4x4
  2. A player from team A was penalized for 1 minute:
    • Lineups became 3x4
    • Playing shorthanded for 1:00
  3. After 30 seconds, another player from team A was penalized for 2 minutes:
    • Lineups remained 3x4
    • Playing shorthanded for 2:30
  4. After 10 seconds, Team B scores a goal:
    • The lineups remain 3-on-4.
    • The first penalty ends due to the goal scored.
    • The second penalty begins.
    • Playing shorthanded for 2:00.
